The work of Olmsted and his sons, John Charles and Frederick Law Jr., spans nearly one hundred years, with projects ranging from urban parks to town planning to ecological protection of streams. In an illustrated lecture, Judith Smith surveys Olmsted’s influence on the history of landscape design, reviews Olmsted’s extraordinary life, and considers the design principles he used to translate his philosophy to built form.<br /><br />You can <a href="http://greenerbaltimore.googlepages.com/GROWshopHistoricParks-1.pdf">download a flyer for this event</a>.<br /><br />RSVP to green@baltimorecity.gov!baltimore green weekhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07416159260470693576noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5898200893489914089.post-92148309763967386572008-04-14T09:56:00.000-07:002008-04-20T17:11:37.518-07:00Baltimore Green Week and Ecofest!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirFVsSQ7HhiI5zfzIsfg-7wOUC5zR3V_eCE9K3si_sqONXR5QzSFXA1RYiN5an5xsLlBahdvCyWPBglb5w3h5alwrSIViNSAbSdmDwYFek-6xTf8r353MWBYraZwoD__7bD8wd-6uo2PXu/s1600-h/GreenWeekPoster.jpg"><span style="display: block;" id="formatbar_Buttons"><span class="on down" style="display: block;" id="formatbar_CreateLink" title="Link" onmouseover="ButtonHoverOn(this);" onmouseout="ButtonHoverOff(this);" onmouseup="" onmousedown="CheckFormatting(event);FormatbarButton('richeditorframe', this, 8);ButtonMouseDown(this);"><img src="img/gl.link.gif" alt="Link" border="0" /></span></span><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5189146088712166114" style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center;" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirFVsSQ7HhiI5zfzIsfg-7wOUC5zR3V_eCE9K3si_sqONXR5QzSFXA1RYiN5an5xsLlBahdvCyWPBglb5w3h5alwrSIViNSAbSdmDwYFek-6xTf8r353MWBYraZwoD__7bD8wd-6uo2PXu/s400/GreenWeekPoster.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://www.baltimorecity.gov/recnparks">Baltimore City Recreation and Parks</a> and <a href="http://www.baltimoregreenweek.org">Baltimore Green Week</a> are teaming up again for the fifth annual Baltimore Green Week and EcoFestival!<br /><br />Baltimore Green Week kicks off on Saturday, April 26 from 11am-5pm with the Ecofestival.
